The Gun Muse (the owner of Gunmuse outdoors' review properties) has done a review on Moly Fusion&trad;
so I, techshooter figured I would do a reciprocal review of GunMuse.com (GunMusedotcom-though it is the array of properties that all say the same thing (identicals).
I feel he is trying to do good, and loves to review products not from an advertising point of view, but in the performance category, as he is through and through (his background) performance driven: whether it is working for you, what the results are, what people think. What do I mean? (A FAQ) What I mean is noone gives him a product that is not performance driven because he will call an ace an ace and a spade a spade. He wants to review stellar products only, and I was pleased he would consider Moly-Fusion&trad; due to three reasons: length of time on the market, quantity of independent testimonies, and quality of my technical explanation.
The strength of his property is the enormous "stickiness" it has with people who happen by. The quantity of people who over time have bookmarked his site has to be enormous, because most of his traffic is not search engine driven, as it is with smaller sites, but bookmarked-direct traffic. But don't take my word on it, see his review today, January 10, 2005 that says (based on today's log):
- "3.2% of our traffic is from the search engines."
- 0.1% "of Unknown Origin"
- 23.7% Links from an external page (other web sites except search engines).
- 49.1% "Direct address / Bookmarks"
There is about 30% missing above and the above doesn't state what the unique viewer breakdown is - just the hits on something VS origin of those hits (hits can be just a call for a graphic). However to get an idea (relatively) how large the audience is, just follow the top hunting link on the bottom to see where gunmuse is for that graphic.
This statement is to myself, techshooter, too (This prodding this review): "To our loyal readers: Thank you, as you are the very reason these companies hold no power over us."
My comment: Gunmuse: you being one of the most read voices on the internet, my idea is you by definition generate 95% of your traffic by bookmarks etc. because your traffic is way too high to be generated by the search engines alone. By your continuing to talk, people are happening by just to see what the conversation is, I think.
What I am saying is if you continue doing what you are doing, your voice will continue to be heard by many, which makes a pluralistic (in practice at least) society all the more richer.
The nice thing about the internet, is if you have tons of traffic, you will be heard. And you have tons of traffic. Shooter Solutions is also a player - as all manufacturers are players on the internet.
